Mirror iPad screen to Mac with X-Mirage

X-Mirage is a very simple and powerful Mac app, which allows you to  mirror your iPhone or iPad’s screen to your Mac with AirPlay mirroring. Once you install X-Mirage on your Mac, your Mac will appear in the list of devices available for AirPlay on your iPhone or iPad in the same network and when you select your Mac and turn on AirPlay Mirroring, your iPhone or iPad’s screen will appear on your Mac screen, just like it would on your HDTV with Apple TV.

The below picture shows you:

1. How to turn on AirPlay Mirroring on iOS 7 and iOS 5 or 6  on iPad. (Left: iOS 7, Right: iOS 5 or 6)

2. How iPad screen looks like on your Mac. (Of course it supports full screen if there is only one iOS device mirrored.)

How to watch iPad picture slideshow on Mac via Airplay

Airplay lets you wirelessly show off your iPad photos on TV via Apple TV. If you don’t have an Apple TV, you can try stream contents from your iOS devices to Mac.  This passage will show you how to play slideshow from iPad on your Mac.

1 Download, install and run X-Mirage on your Mac. Make sure your iPad and Mac are in the same Wi-Fi network.
2 Tap Photos on your iPad and select the picture you wan to begin with. Touch Slideshow button on the upper right corner, you will see all available AirPlay receivers in the Slideshow Options window, select your Mac (I choose X-Mirage because I change the Mac name to X-Mirage. X-Mirage allows you to set name for your Mac, so you can quickly find your Mac when there are multiple AirPlay receivers.) and then click Start Slideshow.

The tutorials on the interface is for enabling AirPlay Mirroring on iPhone and iPad running iOS6 or iOS 7. When you enable AirPlay Mirroring on your iOS devices, the screen of iOS devices is mirrored to the Mac installed X-Mirage. Here we are not using the AirPlay Mirroring, but AirPlay.

2. Run apps that are AirPlay-enabled and hit the ‘AirPlay’ icon.

Open apps you want to watch videos with on your iPhone, iPad or iPod and play any videos, find the AirPlay icon and hit it, choose X-Mirage[your Mac name] in the Devices list, then the video is streamed to your Mac.
